Costframe vs IBM Cloudability
Cloudability documents custom pricing, commitment amortization, business mappings and reporting APIs. Those are established reasons to choose it for enterprise FinOps. Costframe has a narrower Azure investigation workflow and does not claim equivalent rate administration or commitment accounting.

Cloudability supports contract discounts and custom pricing
Cloudability distinguishes Cost (Total), Cost (Adjusted), Cost (Amortized) and Cost (Adjusted Amortized). Its custom pricing module supplies adjusted metrics for configured pricing agreements. IBM's cost-metric documentation describes discount adjustments; it is incorrect to assume Cloudability only uses public list rates.
Apptio's explanation of cloud cost metrics notes that Azure billing exports already reflect custom agreements, while AWS adjustments can use Cloudability's custom pricing module. IBM also documents custom pricing support for GCP. The correct basis depends on the provider and enabled module, not just the label 'net cost'.
Costframe keeps provider ActualCost as net and separates catalog or reconstructed list values. A configured organization discount is not a general custom rate-card engine. There is no basis for claiming that this mechanism outperforms Cloudability's contract-pricing capabilities.

Amortization is a documented Cloudability capability
IBM explains that AWS amortized costs combine CUR fields for consumed Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, with unused commitment cost recorded separately against the owner. For Azure, Cloudability passes through Microsoft's amortized export. The method differs across providers; one formula cannot be copied between them.
This supports showback of commitment consumption rather than merely cash purchases. Costframe's retained ActualCost and estimated net savings do not provide equivalent commitment allocation. Cloudability is the better-supported option when this accounting view is a procurement requirement.

Business mappings, shared costs and downstream reporting
IBM's documentation lists hierarchical business mappings, cost sharing including telemetry-based allocation, dashboards, report subscriptions and report export. Its API catalogue includes cost reporting, business mappings, cost sharing and rightsizing endpoints. Jira Cloud, ServiceNow and observability integrations are also documented.
Costframe's supported Azure mappings and internal statements address configured ownership and review. Its CSV export is permission-scoped, general audit PDF is currently unavailable, and external ticket delivery depends on a configured destination and confirmed receipt. These paths do not establish broad BI-export or integration parity with Cloudability.

Clarify what CSP pricing means in your agreement
Cloud service provider pricing across AWS, Azure and GCP is distinct from Microsoft's Cloud Solution Provider reseller programme. IBM documents Azure EA and MCA collection paths and a separate Cloudability MSP product. Those facts alone do not verify every Azure CSP reseller price book, partner-earned credit or downstream customer invoice.
For an Azure CSP purchase, obtain written confirmation of the supported agreement type, partner versus customer cost basis and treatment of reseller margins. Costframe also has no demonstrated universal CSP reseller-billing contract. Its narrower read-only resource workflow should not be sold as a solution to an unverified pricing gap.
