How to right-size Azure VMs

Right-sizing Azure VMs means matching the VM SKU to actual workload demand. A safe recommendation should use utilization history, memory or workload constraints where available, region-specific SKU pricing, and a review step before any production change.

CPU alone is not always enough

Low CPU is a strong signal, but database, memory-heavy, and latency-sensitive workloads need additional context. Treat right-sizing as a reviewed engineering action.

Price the target SKU

The estimated saving is the difference between the current SKU and the target SKU at the customer's net rate. That keeps the number aligned with the actual bill.
