Costframe is a read-only Azure cost optimization tool for finding idle, oversized, and orphaned resources. It connects to Azure Resource Graph and Cost Management without write permissions, prices findings with configured net-rate context, and creates an audit trail finance can review.
The breakdown is illustrative, but the categories match the detector families: compute sizing, unattached storage, networking leftovers, SQL underuse, and commitment coverage.
Azure proof and readiness
Idle and oversized VMs (exact resize via catalog), stopped-but-billing machines, unattached disks, unused public IPs, idle load balancers and NAT gateways, old snapshots, empty App Service plans, under-used SQL, hot-tier storage, and more — plus optional governance/security-posture checks.
Configure EA/MCA discount terms or approved overrides to review savings estimates against what you actually pay. List value remains separate from net impact.
We pull the public Azure Retail Prices API weekly to build a SKU index, so VM resize recommendations track real market ratios.
Findings can be compared with Azure Advisor where recommendation evidence is available, helping reviewers separate native recommendations from Costframe detector output.
