Understand how Costframe calculates cloud waste totals, models enterprise negotiated discounts, isolates operational review findings, and redacts sensitive parameters.
Most cost management tools report potential savings at raw, retail “List” pricing. Costframe prioritizes and displays findings based on what you actually pay on your final invoice (“Net”):
No Double-Discounting:savings are represented as a net deduction. We never double-discount numbers that are pulled directly as net cost figures from your provider’s native billing API.
Operational Review Candidates
Findings with $0 estimated savings (for instance: stale security credentials, orphaned configs, resource tagging gaps) are categorized separately as Operational Review Candidates. This isolates hygiene recommendations from physical financial savings, keeping aggregated dollar totals honest and transparent.
Parameter Masking
Prior to sharing PDF reports or CSV datasets with external auditors or teams, you can enable redaction filters to mask account numbers, subscription IDs, and custom resource name substrings.
Free-Trial Behavior
